I've worked consistently to bridge the space between ideas and their fullest possible expression.

I offer a range of editorial services that can be tailored to your specific needs, the nature and status of your project, your goals and timeline.  Once I have assessed the project, I can give you a better sense of the level of editing and time involved, and specifically how I can help.  The benefit of working with an academic editor is polished writing that advances your career and professional development. As we work together on multiple projects, and based on my familiarity with your work, those advantages will deepen and multiply.

"Lisa is not only a great editor, she tries to understand the papers to ensure there are no lost ideas or key points that should be addressed. Every comment I receive from her makes me think in better ways to improve the message I want to transmit. She does a world-class job"

—Dr. J.A., Transportation Engineering Researcher

Levels of Editing

Structural editing tends to be done earlier in project development, with support over time and through multiple drafts.  Copyediting and proofreading are valuable once a manuscript is well developed, but could still benefit from another set of eyes and professional polish.

Structural, Developmental Editing

  • Thorough guidance and project development through multiple drafts

  • Feedback and suggestions to clarify thesis and key topics, arguments, project import, structure, organization and narrative pacing

Copyediting / Proofreading

  • Checking and correcting grammar, spelling, punctuation, and any inconsistencies of style, voice or format.
  • Streamlining sentence structure, narrative flow.
